Solar panels will be installed on an area of 27 hectares to achieve the sustainable energy goals of the municipality of Noordenveld. The solar park will have a capacity of 46.4 MW. This is equivalent to the annual consumption of 14,000 average Dutch households.
Municipality of Noordenveld
The goal of the municipality of Noordenveld is to be energy neutral by 2040. To achieve this, the municipality is committed to energy conservation and solar panels on roofs, as well as large-scale sustainable energy projects, such as solar parks. The policy framework “Energy projects in the landscape” was approved in September 2020 and initiators could submit their plans. In Zuidvelde, the Board saw coupling opportunities for nature and ecology, opportunities for multiple use of space and connection possibilities to the grid.
Three initiators and cooperation with local energy cooperative
The council of Noordenveld has given three different initiators in Zuidvelde permission to further explore this solar park. They have been asked to cooperate in the creation of three projects that together form Zonnepark Zuidvelde. These are Ankehaar Solar B.V., Chint Solar Nederland Projecten B.V. and TPSolar Nederland B.V. All three initiators have entered into a partnership with Energiecoöperatie NoordseVeld to fill in the 50% local ownership.
