Making the world a bit brighter; that was the goal, we, Erik Wieffer (on the left side) and Rene Hendriks (on the right side), set for ourselves in 2015. We founded TPSolar and have made a lot of progress since then. We've developed three solar parks in the Netherlands that generate 28.6 MW, which provide 8.100 households of renewable energy. Four other licensed projects will add 36.9 MW and 10.200 households to this.
Our mission to develop and realize environmentally responsible solar parks on all possible locations in the Netherlands is set in stone. We develop, construct, finance and manage our solar parks ourself. A good collaboration with landowners, farmers, residents, municipalities, provinces and energy cooperations are a priority. We are proud of the fact that our solar parks contribute to the climate targets of the Netherlands.
Erik worked in international sales for years. Intrigued by renewable energy, he entered the solar market after selling glas for solar panels. He did not have to think twice about launching TPSolar: "I wanted to be part of making the Netherlands more sustainable and make a constructive contribution to the energy transition. TPSolar stands for trust, collaboration and transparency. As a small, flexible team we are able to develop projects from A to Z."
Rene worked for a multinational for years until he decided to set up his own business. After working with solar glass, he seized the opportunity in 2014 and began developing solar parks in the Netherlands using the SDE+ subsidy system. TPSolar was born a year later. Rene: "I want to contribute to the energy transition. As a family business it's important to leave the Netherlands a clean and safe place for the next generation. What distinguishes TPSolar from other companies? Speed of action, inventiveness and innovation. We may not be the biggest party to work with, but we sure are the finest."
